Thierry R. Montoya
Partner

Thierry R. Montoya is a Partner in the Firm’s Santa Ana office. As a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department, Mr. Montoya represents both private and public clients in areas of real estate, land use and zoning, and environmental law. In that regard, Mr. Montoya works closely with Federal and State agencies such as the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, California Department of Fish & Game, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Regional Water Boards.

Mr. Montoya’s experience includes CERCLA, Clean Water Act, Porter-Cologne Act, and toxic tort litigation in environmental cost recovery actions involving soil and groundwater contamination, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, CEQA, and the Endangered Species Act. Mr. Montoya’s real estate practice includes litigation across all aspects of real estate disputes, including commercial leases, and title disputes.

Mr. Montoya is a published author and regular speaker in areas covering: land use, CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, and EPA water quality regulation. He is currently an editor of the Environmental Liability, Enforcement & Penalties Reporter, and chairs the Federal Bar Association’s Natural Resources Committee.
